Managing Partner
Managing Partner
As managing partner I focus on expanding the portfolio of our funds and supervising the companies. I get my greatest satisfaction from active involvement in our companies and making them become successful.
Through my experience as an entrepreneur, founder of the start-up program Starterslift and three investment funds I know what it takes to build up a successful company. With pleasure I try to transfer this knowledge to our companies. I am straight forward and direct in conveying my opinion and have a critical but positive attitude.
I studied Social Geography at the University of Amsterdam. After an interruption, due to starting my own company, I eventually graduated in 2002.
I gain great pleasure building funds and supporting our companies. In my spare time I am an active angler, cyclist and golf player.
With the input of my knowledge and experience, I hope that our companies will minimise mistakes and make the right choices to realize their full growth potential. I have achieved my objective when our companies have optimally performed and the founders and shareholders have received the desired output.
In 1994, I founded Sebregts Fishing, a retail store focusing on the sale of fishing equipment. I sold the shop in 2000, after which I started as director of Ultimate Fishing, a leading wholesaler of fishing equipment.
Then I started to work as a project manager for a regional development company where I developed the start-up program Starterslift. This program became independent in 2006 and until 2012 I have been its director.
In 2012 I was asked to start and manage Zeeuws InvesteringsFonds. Based on the success of this fund I founded KIKK Capital in 2016 and in November 2023 I launched my third fund, KIKK Capital II.
Senior Investment Manager
Senior Investment Manager
As a senior investment manager, I am responsible for successful investing in young, promising Dutch technology companies that have the ambition to grow into successful companies with an international impact.
In addition, I would like to make my knowledge and experience available to the portfolio companies, so that they can develop faster and distinguish themselves in a positive way.
My open and pragmatic attitude allows me to inspire and move people. My broad financial experience, and my experience as an entrepreneur, ensures that I quickly understand and recognize data, processes and issues. I also like to help people to develop themselves.
After studying Bachelor of Economics at the University of Applied Sciences in Breda, I completed my postdoctoral study as a chartered accountant at Tilburg University in 1999.
I have a passion for entrepreneurship and enjoy helping and coaching people. In my spare time I listen to music and enjoy reading a book. I also enjoy traveling, walking and working in the garden.
My goal is to use my knowledge and experience to successfully invest in promising Dutch technology companies. We do not only support companies financially, but also assist them in achieving their objectives and growth ambitions. As a team, I want to create a positive and enterprising atmosphere: “work hard, but not as an objective in itself”.
After my service, I worked for almost 14 years in various financial positions at Dutch stock listed companies. Since entrepreneurship attracted me, I set up an innovative international company in the aviation industry together with a former colleague (from idea to successful market introduction) in 2007. Unfortunately, this company came to an end in 2021 due to Covid. From 2021 to 2023 I worked as an interim manager at various companies. As of November 1st, I have been working at KIKK Capital as a senior investment manager.
Investment Manager
Investment Manager
As an investment manager I want to be the best possible ally entrepreneurs can think of. An ally that is constantly challenging them as we work together on improving our thinking, discovering new ideas, and sharing them in a collaborative and supportive environment.
My past experiences in M&A formed a solid base for future professional endeavours. I enjoyed applying holistic thinking and not only did I gain firm technical and financial skills, I was also exposed to (inter)national clients operating in a wide variety of industries for which it was imperative to quickly comprehend value chains and business strategies. I am comfortable with numbers, figures and using data to make decisions in a competitive environment, while interacting with a wide variety of stakeholders.
I hold a BSc in Business Administration from Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University, an MSc in Finance & Investments from the same faculty, and an LLM in Financial Law from Erasmus School of Law. I also studied at the Shanghai Advanced Institute of Finance as part of my exchange programme.
The rush I get from discovering new things is a great activator for me. Whether in literature, technology, productivity tools, valuable apps or amazing restaurants; I am always on the lookout for that next best thing to make my life and everyone else's around me more joyful, entertaining and effective.
The very essence of Venture Capital to me is helping entrepreneurs thrive. Rather than accepting barriers, you circumvent or surpass them together. She or he faces a certain challenge and we are there to help overcome them in order for him or her to achieve their goals.
The entrepreneurs we support are creating companies that are working on new and exciting technologies and innovations for the future growth and benefit of our society. My primary objective is to add maximum value to the journey of our entrepreneurs by working together on solving problems that are relevant to the global marketplace and seizing opportunities when they arise.
The initial years of my career have revolved around advisory through my capacity first as an intern at ABN AMRO Corporate Finance, Oxeye Advisors, and subsequently as an M&A analyst at Deloitte Corporate Finance. During this period of time, I have had the pleasure to experience a variety of corporate transactions, where I was actively involved with all deal aspects from origination till closing.
Investment Manager
Investment Manager
As an investment manager I engage with potential investments and work together with the team in reaching mutual goals. I get my energy from the enthusiasm of the entrepreneurs and scientists following their passion.
My analytical skills help me criticize potential investments and connecting the dots. Along the road I expect it will help me and the team digesting and translating scenarios into possibilities. Through my combined experience as a data specialist and bid manager I support the fund in reporting in the broadest sense.
I hold a degree in Business Mathematics from the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences.
I am quite curious on new things and gadgets and I get great pleasure learning from others. I love sports, such as field hockey, golf and cycling. However as a father of three young kids, I’d rather spend time with them then spending it alone on a bike or on the course. I coach my eldest son’s hockey team and am the treasurer of our local hockey club.
Whether it would be for the investments or for the investors, it is my objective to make a difference.
After graduating in 2004, I started in the insurance industry and have worked there until 2020 for Marsh and Aon finding and creating risk management solutions for stock listed and large international companies. After having worked on the commercial end, I was responsible for a team supporting the account management and managed sales reporting, data management and bid management.
As of 2021 I manage an investment portfolio and a Dutch real estate portfolio and founded another real estate company focusing on delivering turnkey apartments in Antwerp. I joined KIKK Capital II from the start in 2023.
