Niels Penning, founder and business developer, was commissioned to write a business plan in his final year of pre-university. He chose to write a plan about a bike tracking system. During his study industrial design at TU Delft his bike got stolen so Niels decided to actually realize his bike tracking system. Within a year he had a working MVP and at the end of 2018, Tracefy launched the V2.0 system, suitable for commercial use and focused on fleet management for larger fleets of different E-mobility vehicles.

ACTIVITIES

The Tracefy system consists of an online dashboard with which companies can manage their fleets of small electric vehicles more efficiently and party automated. The dashboard offers full insights on all locations and trip data of all (via GPS tracker) linked vehicles. Any given time a day usage of the fleet e-bikes, scooters, kickscooters, and cars can be monitored. It's a treasury of realtime data.

The main advantage: companies can reduce cost. No more premature maintenance based on assumptions but based on actual usage. This also makes billing a lot more accurate and easier. For delivery services, realtime location data is an excellent way to keep customers informed on the whereabouts of their order. It is a solid and yet flexible system because it is suitable for any kind of vehicle and can be used in small and large fleets. With one, universal and in-house developed GPS-tracker and patented solution for instalment in E-bikes.

RESULTS

At the end of 2018, Tracefy launched our V2.0 system, suitable for commercial use and focused on fleet management for larger fleets of different E-mobility vehicles. In 2019 the focus was on generating pilots, so customers can experience the system themselves. Now in 2020 they are converting a lot of pilots into contracts.

AMBITION

With this investment, Tracefy could expand its markets for their unique and easy to use solution for fleet management of small (electric) vehicles to European market like Germany and France. In addition, technical capacity is increased for further development of the software, adding new features and to offer customized solutions.
